Sports Medicine
Sports medicine is a major part of our practice at BCOS. We support conservative care for athletes of all ages with the goal to safely return the patient to play as soon as possible. Dr. Bowers routinely performs ACL reconstructions, meniscus and cartilage surgery in the knee, and stabilization, biceps management, decompression and rotator cuff repairs in the shoulder. We work closely with your physical therapist(s) to ensure an optimal team approach to your recovery.
Joint Replacement
Dr. Nguyen is fellowship trained in hip and knee replacement, and Dr. Bowers is fellowship trained in shoulder replacement. We employ 3D computer templating, robotic assistance, and if needed, custom implants to ensure a precise result. Your surgery is guaranteed to be fully completed by your chosen SURGEON, not by a resident or fellow trainee.
General Orthopedics
While our physicians have completed subspecialty fellowship training, we take pride in taking care of the general orthopedic needs of all age groups in our community. We cover emergency room calls for our established patients at Virtua Mt. Holly Hospital at all times. We aim to provide same-day or next-day appointments for acute fractures or time-sensitive injuries.
Fracture Treatment
Many acute injuries, including ligament sprains, muscular strains, and low energy fractures can be primarily evaluated in our office the day of injury. Depending on your insurance, we can help you avoid the cost and exposure of emergency room or urgent care visits. We have on-site x-ray which can help you avoid a second co-pay or the time and hassle of traveling to multiple facilities. BCOS is able to pre-certify stat CT or MRI, and we have bracing, splinting, and casting at the ready. We preserve OR space daily for time-sensitive fractures requiring surgery.

Andrea L. Bowers, MD
Dr. Andrea Legath Bowers, a native of Moorestown, NJ, earned undergraduate and medical degrees from Vanderbilt University. She completed Orthopedic residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a Sports Medicine/Shoulder fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Khoa M. Nguyen, DO
Dr. Khoa Nguyen (pronounced like “Win”) is a fellowship trained Adult Reconstruction orthopedic surgeon. He specializes in total knee and anterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, robotic-assisted knee and hip replacement, and revision total knee and hip arthroplasty.
Kathryn O'Brien, PA-C
Kathryn O’Brien is a board certified physician assistant who hails from Mt. Laurel, NJ. She graduated magna cum laude from Stockton University with a degree in Health Sciences. Kate completed her Master in Science in Physician Assistant studies at Thomas Jefferson University with a strong focus in orthopedics.
Emily Turo, PA-C
Emily is a Certified Physician Assistant. She earned her Masters of Clinical Medical Sciences and Physician Assistant Studies from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Prior to PA school, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Penn State University.
